Our History

Villa La Bianca was founded by the great writer and literary critic: Cesare Garboli. Since its opening, we have been trying to keep the original nature of this elegant country house as much as possible, whose rooms have seen the presence of some of the most representative characters of the art and culture of the 20th Century. This is the reason why we have chosen to create a Country House instead of an hotel, because we wanted to keep its original welcoming “home from home ” atmosphere. Villa La Bianca was opened in 1999 and it was one of the first Country Houses in the Versilia Area, where this idea was still not very common. Sandro Gurioli,is the creator of Villa La Bianca project, and he is still the soul and main proprietor . Sandro has been joined by Andrea Rossi,of late Neno Gherardi Angiolini and Rossella Domenici, pothographer and interior designer, like a ideal union with the artistic vocation of the house. Mario Soldati described the charm and atmosphere of Villa La Bianca in an article of 1963; as well as the famous painter Giosetta Fioroni wrote and painted it in the book “Dossier Vado”, published by Corraini. Master Luigi Veronelli dedicated a work to Villa La Bianca, where he showed all his love for this house; for its stone walls full of history and memories, for its intimate atmosphere; hoping to come back as soon as he had left. Villa La Bianca is still the same place full of charm which its guests have been describing during the past years. A place where every guest feels as if it is he’s own home for the duration of his stay.
